Yes the unit charged from behind can see but cannot fire and has to roll a dice to see if they will form square; if they don't form square they are in real trouble!

Marge, I think a unit still has LOS if charged from behind, some guy will see/hear those 200 curassiers pounding towards them, but they do have much less chance of forming square.

Thanks (call me Neil) We played 500pts. My dice were amazing and rolled over the odds on every attempt; so not superior tactics unfortunately.

I charged riflemen in the flank with some Cav and allowed form square as not disordered, but have subsequently spotted that they must SEE charger; thus out of LOS means no square, is that right?

A great game this evening; my French gained a solid win over Bob's Brits mostly due to the heroics of my light infantry company that recoiled 3 attempts to charge and took out 180pts of redcoats
